Headed for Home - next 4 days!

Were are not going to get there this way!

Day 1 - Got a fairly early start out of camp but had slow going traffic and road construction all the way to Denver.  Just barely got going in Kansas when we had a major blow out on the jeep tire.  Took a bit to fix because the jack we had we too small to lift the wheel.....Buddy managed and we got back on the road.  It was 8ish before we stopped for the night in Goodland at a KOA.   http://koa.com/campgrounds/goodland/

Day 2 - Wow.....only made it to East Kansas City on the Missouri border for today's travels - Central Time.    Took a dip in the pool before we settled in for the night. No problems today.  http://koa.com/campgrounds/kansas-city/

Day 3 - Got to one of our favorite KOA's in Kentucky - Prizer Point

Day 4 - We had hope to catch up with Rob Pressley in Knoxville on our way home, but his plans had changed.  Oh well, we'll get home a day early.

Jeremy and Jamie invited us over to where they are house/horse/alpaca sitting for dinner.  A great drive along the Colorado River on winding dirt roads to the ranch.  We watch them feed the livestock and Jamie had prepared an exceptional lasagna dinner for us.  This would be our last night to see the folks.

Alpaca's - a descended from the guanaco (humpless camels).  They were domesticated from the guanaco's 5,000 years ago by the Incas (people that lived in the high snow capped Andes Mtns. of South America).  Alpaca's use to be used as pack animals but now they are famous for there shaggy fur for which clothes are made out of.

Time to see some more of this county....we started out fairly later than we entended, but had a wonderful ride up in the back county in Jeremy's old Suburdan aka Clark.  Kraig was at the wheel and did an excellent job. 

We didn't quite get to the lake we were headed to, but that's okay....this was beautiful!

Great afternoon, but on the way down the mountain just before our meeting place, the tie rod went out on ole Clark and Kraig and Jeremy had to rig it so Kraig could get back to the ranch.  Jeremy and Jamie had a house sitting job to get back to and Buddy and I went back to the campground, River Dance.

Another beautiful day....spent the afternoon at the ranch getting our "to do list" in order and then did our usual low county boil for dinner.  Buddy was starting to feel much better.
